Starter Vape Kit OTD — playbook
If you are comparing three quotes for starter vape kit, compare the paperwork first. Test reports, artwork files, batch coding and the replacement clause tell you more about a supplier than the unit price on page one.

Choosing the core line
We work with distributors who order between a few hundred and a few thousand units at a time, and we treat both ends the same way: a written specification, a sample you approve, and a production run that matches the sample.
A practical starting order for distributors is 300 units across two or three SKUs, not 300 units of one. That spreads the risk, gives your staff something to compare, and still hits the first price break.
Most distributors arrive with a spreadsheet and leave with too many SKUs. The fix is not a bigger catalogue, it is a narrower core. We normally propose three tiers: a volume line that carries the shelf, a step-up line that lifts basket value, and one trial SKU that tells you what to order next season.
What happens when something goes wrong
Returns are handled as data, not as complaints. Every reported failure is logged by mode and by batch, and the pattern is reviewed monthly with the factory.
For private label accounts we hold the artwork files and the approval record. Rebranding a line eighteen months later is then a file update instead of a redesign.
The checks behind every shipment
A 0.5 percent defect rate sounds excellent until it lands on a 600 unit order and you are handling three returns in a week. We quote realistic rates per category and we credit in advance for the known failure modes.
Every batch is pulled from running production, not from a display shelf. We check draw resistance, airflow balance, charge behaviour, leak performance after a temperature shift, finish quality and carton integrity, and we keep the pull records against the order number.
- Named account contact who has handled the product
- Artwork proof plus physical dummy for custom packaging
- Batch codes traceable from carton back to production date
- Cartons drop-tested and pallet-counted for clean freight
- Document pack prepared per destination market
- Consolidated or split shipping, quoted both ways
Sell-through notes for the shop floor
Counter space is finite. Three well-chosen SKUs outsell nine crowded ones, and the empty space signals a curated range rather than a clearance table.
Photography matters for online listings. Shoot on a neutral background with the device at a slight angle, show the pack alongside the unit, and keep the same framing across the range so the grid reads as a family.

We would rather lose an order at quotation stage than explain a mismatch after delivery, which is why the specification conversation comes before the price conversation.
Frequently asked
How long does production take?
Around 22 working days after artwork approval for stock configurations, plus transit. Custom runs add roughly a week for tooling and a physical dummy. We confirm the date in writing on the order acknowledgement.
Can you ship to multiple locations?
Yes. Split shipments are quoted separately because consolidation and splitting price differently. Tell us the destination list at quotation stage and we will show both options.
Can we order samples before committing?
Yes. Sample orders are shipped by air express and the cost is credited against your first production order above 300 units. We would rather you handle the sample than approve a specification from a photograph.
